Detect the Wieght of Item into Navision from Weigning Mach.

Hi All,
My Client has an requirement of Automatic Detecting the Weight of Particalular Item into Navision afer placing the Some Quantity of the item
on the weighing Machine.I feel, Its just like concept similar to Detecting an Item Using Bar Code. .


Share some ideas with me , if you have some information regarding this requirement.

    Most of those scales have serial connection to the PC. From NAV you need to use an automation and connect to the port and send a message to the scale will send back the weight.

    This is how Lanham scale works for E-Ship.

    Yes, you will need some automation to read the scale.

    By the way, most of the scales and retail devices connected to a POS use a standard called OPOS. If you want to design an automation for the scale-reading, you could use this OPOS interface.

    There are NAV add-os for Retail Business that implements the OPOS.
