Feild Level restriction to an Role - Possible?

Hi
The Situation is.....
i need to hide an particular information(say description feild from the item table) from an user(Role)...
i could do it.....by writting some code in the form(by hard coding)..
i want to restrict that in the table level..so that the user can not the see that feild in any form... is it possible?...

Why does "User" need to see the table then? Block them from having access to the table.0

Quite simply, this isn't possible at the table level due to the lack of an appropriate trigger (eg. OnOpen).0

Yes, I mean if you're refering to say "Item List" you can modify that form But I can only assume that if you give someone access to the actual Table that they would be allowed to see a description.0
