Entrpreneur

Is it having any impact yet in the European market?
Reading the Partnersource FAQ, it seems like it is Microsoft's trial of making all the products sold by distributors and turning VARs into strictly solution/service providers.
Small Business Manager based on Great Plains does not seem to have done well in the USA.
Entrpreneur does not seem low enough priced for the typical smaller company.

I wish I could say, but Belgium isn't important enough for MS :P
I have to say I'm actually quite curious myself. I noticed alot of anticipation about Entepreneur, but I've yet to hear if it has wielded any result thus far.New to NAV. Please don't eat me. I prolly taste funny.0 -
Hi Davemac1,
Unfortunately it's not launched across all Europe yet
(Only Dutch,German and Spanish versions as yet - may include Belgium and Denmark)
There is a W1 version but this is for ISV's only to develop add-ons.
Can't wait to get going on it =P~0 -
FYI: Microsoft has announced to stop distribution of "Dynamics Entrepreneur" in Germany at 1. September 2009.
Entrepreneur customers are free to migrate to NAV 2009

Very interesting is this statement:Microsoft Switzerland had so lucky, the package never launched it. 'Entrepreneur' has been launched in January by Microsoft in four test markets of Europe. At least in Holland and Britain, we found no reference for a stopp of the distribution of 'entrepreneur'.

I thought it was confusing to have a semi-unmodifiable version of NAV to begin with. Maybe for companies that small they're going to push Office Accounting? Don't know though if MSFT is going to invest in localizations though...0

That's not too bad. I wonder if they killed it for product conflict reasons or just because the risk and reward wasn't great enough.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

btw: the reason to stopp distribution Entrepreneur was NAV 2009 . I hope MS will also sell (cheaper) licenses of NAV 2009 for (very) small companies.....navvy

All ENT partners have invested a lot of time and money. We still pay a monthly fee...

I thought the meaning of Entrepreneur was to penetrate the small company market, giving them the possibility to enter the marvelous world of NAV, and, when, over the years, the smaller company had grown bigger, the step to start using NAV would be a little one.
Nevertheless, it's a pity that Entrepreneur will not be sold anymore.
To bad also for my efforts to get fully certified as Entrepreneur Specialist.......Man who put head on railroad track get splitting headache...0 -
I wasn't debating the validity of Entrepreneur, I understand it, I just didn't think it was logical and am not surprised that they discontinued it.
My comment about "Office Accounting" (which is an accounting package for small businesses in Microsoft Office) was about me wondering what will happen next. That has nothing to do with NAV.0
