In SQL Server 2008, Reports has been moved out of Business Intelligence Studio to an Office type addon (complete with ribbon pane).
How will this affect deployment of reports for the role- tailored client. Will the reports generated for SQL Server 2005 version work for SQL Server 2008?

Yes - both versions of SQL Server will work with the new reporting engine. Also both VS 2005 and VS 2008 will work as the report editor.
