Item tracking issue

Hi,
We have a problem with one item that is on inventory, but when we create the sales order, item tracking for this item is not available (i.e. we can't select serial no.).
We tried to insert serial no manually into Tracking Specification table,
but again we get "Item Tracking Serial No xxxxx Lot No. for Item no xxx Variant cannot be fully applied".
Maybe there are some other tables included in the issue tracking operations, or maybe this is not an issue tracking problem?
thank you,

You really need to study this, because Item Tracking has gone through many changes to work out all of the bugs from years past, and it is now a very workable system.
Every serial # has to be received, positive and open to be selected. You can't select one twice, and you definitely should not add data to these tables manually. The entries in the Tracking Specification table are virtual until committed, that's why you don't see them.
You have to follow the rules here or things will not go well. The reservation entry table is also involved.0 -

In the mean time we solved it. The problem was that for some reason the entries were closed, so we opened them.
thanks for your support.0 -
Just make sure that for EACH serial number and for EACH item, that Total Quantity = Total Quantity open. If this goes out of sync you will spend hours and hours trying to fix it.0

Hi team, I have an issue with item tracking in Business Central. Items are tracked with Lot number and expiry date and shipped, but at the receipt side the item tracking code or the expiry date or both do not show. what could be the problem ?0

Are you asking about an issue with a transfer order? Or what else is your bisiness case?
What settings do you use in regard to "in transer" location and use of warehouse handling (pick, shipment, receipt, put-away, ..., bins, Directed Put-away and Pick)0 -
Yes...The issue is about transfer orders only.0
