Navision 5.00 Outlook Integration (NAS needed?)

I've worked many times with the Ms Outlook Integration in the previous versions of Navision. Now I wonder if you need a NAS for the new Outlook integration in the 5.00 version? And if yes, if it's always necessary to use it? Or is it also possible without a NAS?
Thanks!
Thanks!

You need a NAS (Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0 Application Server) for the Outlook Integration.
It's stated in the "Installation & Setup White Paper".

Yes you need NAS. While implementing it, I always wondered about those greyed out sql options.0

Hi,
I'm facing error below while trying to test connection.
'The response frm Microsoft Dynamics NAV has not been received because of connection timeout. Please check if the server is running and try again. If problem persist increase the timeout value in the configuration file. Please veriify your synchronization settings'.
I'm using SQL 2000 and couldn't find the whitepaper with SQL 2000 setup guide.
Anyone able to tell me what to do next?
Thanks0
