Disable Copy - Paste

Is it possible to disable Copy - Paste in Navision ?

A customer of ours doesn't like it, that the employees can copy-paste his customerlist in Excel...

    No. Not by using security/roles.

    Maybe you could add a function with shortcut Ctrl+C to overrule the standard copy shortcut.
    And disable all right mouse clicks to prevent copying... :-k

    It's not possible.
    Also the idea with the propertie is not the whole true.
    Becase the employee can make a screen copy. So, there is ever a way to copy ;-)

    If you customer doesn't like it that his empl. copy datas, he should not give them the permissions to see the datas (for example remove some fields in list / card forms)
    Do you make it right, it works too!

    If you can see it, you can copy it.

    By using Ctrl+C, or the mouse, or PrintScreen, or typing in another application, or a pen, or your mouth, or by showing the screen to others, or printing the data to paper or file.
    Prevention is not possible. You can only make things more difficult for the users.

    You can use Timer and the Clipboard DLL to clear the clipboard each 0,5s to prevent to Ctrl+C/V... but it will clear the global clipboard without connection if the data are from NAV or e.g. user is copying between Word and Excel...

    You should not try to make things hard for your users. And trust them! :wink:

    You could only enable this when the customer list is open.

    This is a very common request the correct solution to this issue is for the customer to immediately sack all the employees that they do not trust.

    Yes, I agree with David. They should can their suspect employee.

    What's strange to me is how often you hear some silly request, and people think its unique to them or unique to their clients.

    No this is a very common request, I hear it all the time, and each time I tell the client the same answer. So often I hear these stories of "but my client is different", well they all are. But the client comes to us for good sound business advice. They do not come to us just so we can say Yes Yes Yes We can do it no problem.

    Actually the crux of the issue is the lists makes copy & paste too convenient, especially to Excel, displaying too much information...
    What is really in the users' mind is that, eg, if the user clicks on the Customer Name, then only show the Customer Name list. Unless he clicks on the Credit Limit, then show the Customer Name + Credit Limit...
