Serial Numbers in Navision

Hi Experts!

I would be very appreciated, if someone could tell me briefly how serial numbers work in Navision? For example, how can I give a serial number for a specific item?

    The item is set with an item tracking code on the item tracking tab and this code has to be configured for serial numbers.

    Then on any transaction involving the item you go to line item tracking lines and define the serial number here. Inbound you can manually assign them or use the functions to create them. Outbound you pick from what you have.

    Item tracking is explained in the Navision help. Just push F1 and find Item Tracking and you'll get all the information you need.
