Hi All,

I'd like to ask about freelancing on Navision. Well, recenty I found my 'daytime' job left me with quite a bit of time to kill after normal working hours (I hope my boss don't read this forum  ) So I was toying of with the idea of exploring some opportunities to help paying those monthly bills. Basically, here're my questions:

1. Have you done freelancing / outsourcing NAV?
2. If yes, as what? and / or which part of the project?
3. How you find the oursourcing opportunities?
4. How do you define the commitments? by hour? man-day? or jobs done, like 1 report etc?
5. What are the pain points / hindrances / difficult experiences that you can share?

I'm currently residing in Europe, so I guess I'd hope the answers will be in European context. But anyone welcome to give input. Appreciated. =P~

Rgds,

Jon.

On major area of concern would be actual (or implied) exclusive agreements that your company has (or believes they have) with you. If they are investing in your Navision education they probably (rightly) expect to benefit from that learn curve. They would probably not be happy to discover you were using it outside the company.

It is not a matter of "will the boss find out" but when. Take the proper preparation or you may find yourself in a very nasty legal situation.
There are no bugs - only undocumented features.

I agree. The best way to deal with the situation is to let your employer know that you want to accept work on the side. I don't think there are many companies that would be happy about it though.

The real issue is why do you have so much free time? I am sure that your boss will be happy to hear that you are ready for bigger workloads.

I guess I just don't know what you mean then, because I don't understand what one has to do with the other. I spend my time after working hours doing things other than work (watch tv, read, play music, golf).

Well, basically, I used to extend my working hours. Now I don't have to so much. Anyway, not important
