Purpose of File -> Company -> New

What is the purpose of File -> Company -> New?
There's no way for a end-user to create their own company by using the above method because they might not have procured some modules & the system specifically checks for the setup.
Even for developer they still need to setup these modules when the customer has not procure them.

To create setup and do the transactions.

The option will be used when the customer has more than one company and you need to create multiple companies in one database. Further if after implementation customer acquires another company he will use the option.

It is the very first step in every implementation, right after creating the database. Without a new company there is no NAV implementation.

End user can user the Company --> New function to create new companies. You don't need to purchase all modules in order to create new company. If you do not purchase certain modules, you just cannot use the modules after creating the company

ditto, I am an end user and have used this many times. Handy for test out things, the setup is pretty easy just using the "SETUP CHECKLIST" you can copy the setup from other companies in the database.

The end-user have tried but it seems the default codes checks for certain setup tables even though these tables belongs to modules not purchased.
The problem lies with the XXXtable.GET where if there is no record in that table an error is returned but the user has no permission to access that table to do setup!

maybe I am lucky, as an end user, I have done this since navision 2.0 in 1999 thorugh navision 4.0 last week, and it has worked without an error. we don't license everything, so there are certainly modules we dont license that get created
