Problem updating a field

Wondered if anyone could help me. I have a subform that has a couple of fields on it. If one of the fields is set to zero i want to update it with the value from the other field. I want to do this on afterget record so that the user doesn't have to go down each row setting the value. The trouble is i can't get it to work. On the form the value i am setting looks correct but in the table the value has not been updated. Can anyone help?

    Have you considered adding code to the onValidate trigger of the table your subform is based on?

    For example OnValidate Field A

    if currfieldno( fieldno( Field A ) ) and ( Field B = '' ) then Field B = Field A

    the currfieldno condiition is included to make sure that it only runs when the validation is called when the user is on the form. You can make it happen more generally by removing the condition.
