i keep getting this error
Gen. Posting Type must not be in Gen. Hournal Line ournal Template Name=",Journal Batch Name='BAZYLI 2',Line No.='10000'.
I have other recurring entries that work find, i am getting this on one other.
when i go to the gen. posting type, there is nothing there. i ran a debugger and got this:
IF ("Gen. Bus. Posting Group" <> '') OR ("Gen. Prod. Posting Group" <> '') OR
("VAT Bus. Posting Group" <> '') OR ("VAT Prod. Posting Group" <> '') THEN
TESTFIELD("Gen. Posting Type");
IF ("Gen. Posting Type" <> "Gen. Posting Type"::" ") AND
("VAT Posting" = "VAT Posting"::"Automatic VAT Entry")
i bolded the line its pointing to.
i do not see anything wrong
when i look at the field in the journal entry it keeps wanting to put a space in that line, when looking at it i see a blue high light as if a space is higlighted (make sense?)
the option string for that is set to
,Purchase,Sale,Settlement
if i take out the spaec before the comma before Purchase, it keeps wanting to put a comma in the gen posting type.....
like i said i have other recurring general entries running fine, just two of them keep doing this, it does not make any sense.

I personally never use that field - it's always blank.
I would delete the journal line and re-enter it.0 -
i have done that 5 times now lol
i do not use that field either
i have even created a whole new batch too- So it Goes.0 -
How is your template name blank?
I would go to object designer run table 81rj5570 wrote:](*,) Template Name="
look at the entries for the "bad" one - delete it.0 -
no sure what you mean by bad entry
when i look at them in the table, they look all the same except for amounts and accounts.
this is odd- So it Goes.0 -
i deleted that line from the table, re entered it and got the same error- So it Goes.0
-
Sorry I was wondering which one had no template name. As per your first post your error message shows no template name.
Also when you go to post & print TEST REPORT does it give additional info?
also clear you filters.0 -
It must be the fields you are entering
These are the main fields we fill in
Posting Date
Doc Date
Account Type
Account No
Amount
Balance Account Type
Balance Account No0 -
Why do you have Tax Bus. Posting Group or Tax Prod. Posting Group filled in?
They should be blank. They are only used for VAT.
Check the GL account card and make sure they are blank.
THen recreate the journal lines.0 -
all i am using is
recurring method, recurring frequencey, postind date, document number account type, account no, description and amount,
then the allocation.
remember this is recurring general entry
- So it Goes.0 -
Check the G/L Account Card. for that account No. Make sure nothing is filled in the fields "Tax Bus. Posting Group" or "Tax Prod. Posting Group" on the Posting TAB.0
-
the probablem is not the tax prod...
the error again is
Gen. Posting Type must not be in Gen. Hournal Line ournal Template Name=",Journal Batch Name='BAZYLI 2',Line No.='10000'
this is dealing with the gen. posting type.

Check the "Gen. Posting Type" to be blank on the GL Account Card. as well.0

I still find all MY entries have a template name of RECURRING not blank am I off base here? :-k0
-
thats the error i am getting
the funny thing is that i have 15 others that work fine, set up exactly the same other the obviously amounts and accounts.
the odd thing too is sometimes it lets me use the vendor and sometimes it wont let me use a vendor in account type.

I looked at the code and the only thinkg I can tell you is that make sure the following fields are all blank on that gl account
"Gen. Posting Type"
"Gen. Bus. Posting Group"
"Gen. Prod. Posting Group"
"VAT Bus. Posting Group"
"VAT Prod. Posting Group"0 -
yup
checked, i had something in the gen prod field, so i wiped that out
still get the same error
](*,)- So it Goes.0 -
Did you delete the line and insert it again?0
-
haaaaaaaaaaaaa no i didnt
and that worked!!!
thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is solved!! yeeeehaaaaa something worked today
thank you so much!
rj- So it Goes.0 -
Hide the fields you don't use :whistle:0
-
I like that quote."Something worked today"
You are welcome.0 -
Hi How did you manage to solve it 'case I have exactly the same problem and I simply can't find a solution to it0
-
Make sure on the GL account the following fields are all blank.
"Gen. Posting Type"
"Gen. Bus. Posting Group"
"Gen. Prod. Posting Group"
"VAT Bus. Posting Group"
"VAT Prod. Posting Group"
Once you've blanked the nonempty field, delete the recurring journal and insert it again.0 -
Hi thanks for your immediate reply.0
-
Hi ppl,
Just for your info; the gen posting type along with the gen prod/bus and vat prod/bus must be filled in the recurring journal entry but not in the allocations journal entries.0
