Navision Company Data Restore Error

Hi,

I'm trying to restore a company only data backup to another database with the same set of objects. The restore gets right to the end then gives the following error :

'Restore has been terminated because data common to all companies exists in the database.'

The backup file was created by simply selecting 1 company from the list. The 'Data Common To All Companies' and 'Application Objects' options were both left unticked.

Never seen this error before. It's Navision SQL version 4.00SP3 client with 4.00SP1 objects.

Any help appreciated,

    Have you tried creating a new empty database and restoring your backup to it?

    I ran into that problem on one occasion and it worked for me.

    Before I did that I tried doing a restore with and without objects which sometimes worked.
    Half-empy or half-full how do you view your database?

    Restore data into blank database, backup again without common data (and objects!) and restore it again.
