Do reports use FINDSET automagically?

Just out of curiosity: when you run a report, does it get the records with FIND('-') - NEXT, or FINDSET(TRUE,FALSE) - NEXT or how does it work?
BTW I'd love to explore these things myself but the point is when I run the client monitor, the SQL statements are cut to something like, I don't remember, 100 or 200 chars. And what are the typical options for the client monitor, in your opinion, for finding out what's going on?

You can also run a SQL Profiler trace and see the full queries. You still wouldn't know whether the NAV client uses FINDSET or FIND('-') though, and I doubt that internally reports are translated to C/AL0

I just tried it on "Open Customer Entries" report and it generates a Select * (FAST5) for the ledger entries so as I suspected it uses a FIND('-') syntax.
FINDSET generates a SELECT * TOP XYZ statement.Apathy is on the rise but nobody seems to care.0 -
It wouldn't make much sense if it uses FINDSET. By default the record set is only 500 records.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog
