stockkeeping unit and lot number

Hi there:
I was wondering if someone could help me with this please, I usually buy items with a variant (color) and I already has defined each variant as a stockkeeping unit. now the problem is how can I define a lot no. for each individual stockkeeping unit and not for the main item because each variant has a different lot no. ? :-k
