Formatting

How can I convert the value say for example "586,546.3596" to only two decimal places without rounding the value.

    try ROUND(586,546.3596, 0.01,'<')

    Since your messaqe subject is 'Formatting' I am assuming, that you want to convert it to text:
    FORMAT(586546.3596, 0, '<Sign><Integer Thousands>')
