Dimensions used to interlink Customer & Item

Dear All,

Requirement:

In Production Forecast form, Based on the customer selection in the header, Items to be grouped in the lines.

Solution:

Customer field brought into the Production Forecast table.

Linked Customer A to a Dimension Value "Cust A" in Customer Card
Linked Item X, Item Y & Item Z to Dimension Value "Cust A" in Item Card.

So customized the Customer field in Production Forecast form such a way that

when Customer A is selected in Production Forecast, based on the Dimension value

those Items (Item X, Y & Z) will be grouped in the Lines of the Production Forecast

Is the solution given is OK. or we can have a better way of doing it?
