Nav 5.0sp1 restore - 'TableData 1000000003 does not exist'

I'm testing some modifications for a client and just tried restoring a copy of a clients db over a copy I restored this morning and I get

'TableData 1000000003 does not exist'

What I did was to delete all the companies and then do a complete restore.... seems a bit ridiculous that a complete restore of a complete backup would fail.... anyone know why this occurs and if there is a solution.

I can just wipe the sql db and create it again - but I'd like to know why it fails rather than just ignoring the problem.

You need to import all the objects first from the backup .fbk and then restore.

There is probably a table in backup that is not in your db.

aha, hadn't thought of that. I just assumed that a complete restore would restore data objects as well.

Thanks, I'll give it a go the next time I get this error.

This problem created another, which I solved by trashing the old db and recreating it. After the error you are left with a company (numeric name) which you cannot open. Since you cannot open it, you cannot delete it.

I suppose there is no recovery from this sort of a situation, no?
