"feature key" and "Perspectives" in AX

in axapta 3.0 there is a module call feature keys,but i can't find anything useful for this.i don't know what it use for?was it only use in 2.X version?
i haven't use 2.x version before.
and then in dynamics AX 4.0 the "feature keys" was delected and a new module call "Perspectives" was added.

Although "feature keys" was delected in AX 4.0 but i also want to know what it use for. and i also want to know the new thing "Perspectives" use for what.

can anyone help me?

    Perspectives are used by SQL Reporting Services as data sources. It's how Ax integrates with SRS

    Hello,

    Briefly -
    Prior to 3.0, there was only one system available for setting up security and configuration of Ax. This system was called feature keys. If I remember correctly there were hundreds and hundreds of feature keys existed in good old Ax 2.5.

    The feature keys were replaced by security and configuration keys in Ax 3.0.
