Consolidated Translation Method - Composite & Equity Rat

Hi,
I need help understanding why you would use Composite and Equity Rate in the Consolidation Translation Method. Average, closing and historical all makes sense. I have completed lots of testing with transactions with the Composite and Equity rate, but I have seen no difference using these rates.
