Record size of "Value entry" has exploded

Before:
SQL Server 2000
Navision 4.0

Record Size of Value Entry: 2,477

Update:
SQL Server 2005
Navision 4.02

Record Size of Value Entry: 9,016

There are some more tables/ entries which boosted. But Value Entry is the most significant one.

We assume that this is the reason why database size exploded as well and why some user block them each other.

Has anybody expierenced something similar?

Have you tried to optimize the table?

Or at least do a weekly index-rebuild under SQL?
To further diminish size (and increase performance), you can decide to not maintain some indexes/SIFT-fields under SQL. Or change the index under SQL.
