Anyone got any good NAV addons for Mobile ?

We are looking at quite a customized system, and looking for a mobile solution that would work without too much extra development on NAV 2009 SP1.

Does anyone have a solution that is wrapped as a web based solution (WAP) etc, i.e. does not tie you down to Windows Mobile Devices ?

We are developing an AX Mobile application for AX 2009 SP1, using the Dynamics Mobile Framework 1.5. Some where we have read that Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 SP1 Connector supports English only. I would to know what does it really mean. Is it relates to Data or labels. Will it stop us from developing the application for other languages.

"Supports only english" what does it really mean?

I'm working with mobile sales solutions and i've been searching for others solutions like ExpandIT. Being ExpandIT the solution that we use, i have the task to evaluate others and then make a choice between ExpandIT or the other tecnology that might be better.

Can someone that has experience on mobility solutions tell me if there is a better solution or what features ExpandIT lacks from others solutions?

We might stay with ExpandIT, but i also want to know others "tasks" that i can integrate with this solution.

Hi all.

I have problems to understand the tasklet tag in UserRoles.xml file. I have tryed to create my own tasklet with rolepad for deployment and also the Hello World tutorial on msdn. But I cant configure the tasklet tag properly. After running the application I get an error "Tasklet type HelloWorld.HelloWorldTasklet, HelloWorld not found."

I am deploying both projects (tasklet & rolepad) to Program Files folder and subdirectory HelloWorld. Solution name and also tasklet name is "HelloWorldTasklet".

Please help me if you know the solution. Thanks.

Using Document Service NOT from mobile device

Hi guys,

Has anyone had any sucess using the Document Service to handle an XML file NOT from a mobile device.

I need to build a custom sales order entry screen in .Net... I've managed to create my own Document Handler in .Net and can prove that it works from the Mobile Sales sample application that uses the Windows Mobile emulator, etc..

I opened up a blank VB.Net winforms application, added a web reference to the Document Service..

I then tried to use the SubmitRequestDocument method and passed in a variable with the contents of an XML file (created using the Mobile Sales Sample App)..

I get back a response saying "The server cannot process the request. Contact your administrator."...
If I look in the Event Viewer logs, it says:

Hai all,

We are developing a mobile application with dynamics mobile framework 2.0 and visula studio 2005, windows mobile 5.0 emuator

I navigate from one screen to other screen in the emulator with the help of soft keys that have been defined in the UserRole.Xml file.

I have two Menu actions(two softkeys) in a screen for which i need to validate data based on the menu item selected.

The problem here is how can i determine which softkey(which tasklet action is selected) is selected in the method below which i have written in the Tasklet1.cs page

Hi everybody

I've just download the vpc for nav 2009 with dynamics mobile featured and also has a device emulator, I’ve already succeed synchronizing it with the device emulator, but I have real devices with windows mobile 6 and 5 so I was wondering if anyone can help with the communication between my real device, which is connected to my host pc (windows xp professional) via usb, and the VPC image (windows server 2003).

I'm already have done these:

-Install .NET compact Frame work 3.5 in my devices.
-Install SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP1 in my devices.
-Install mobile sales.cab in mobile devices.
-Install a lookback adapter in my host pc.
-Setup the network adapter for the VPC as lookback adapter.

I will appreciate any help

SSIS package error

Hello!

Unfortunately I have a problem, I can not run the SSIS package successfully.
First I checked my company name in NAV. I think, it is CRONUS Rt.

After that I replaced CRONUS International Ltd_ with the correct company name, CRONUS Rt._ , in the Mobile Sales-NAV5SP1.dtsconfig (I tried with the „original” company name too.)

I set up the connection manager.
And I got the following error message:

I tried to rename the company name on the original company name, but It didn’t solve my problem.
And I saw the original company name in the message error...
What the mistake may be?

Mobile Device connection problem

Hello,

I have a problem with my mobile device, the mobile device can't be connected to my localhost, so it doesn't reach my services. I am a beginner in this technology yet, but I have mobile documentation and I downloaded the Microsoft VPC image.

I installed the LoopBack Adapter the following settings: (I disabled the other connections.)

I tested the following link/url: (on the localhost)
http://localhost:8080/documentservice/document.svc -> It works good.
http://192.168.1.10:8080/documentservice/document.svc -> It works good.

I set up stagging database and replication. When I opened the Visual Studio and I ran the mobile emulator, I tried to reach my localhost, my services, but it didn't work.
The mobile device sayed that: "Cannot connect with current connection setting. To change your connection setting, tap Setting."
I saw a modem connection, vpn, proxy server and a lot of things there, but it is for me very unknown.
I intalled the Active Sync 4.5 on the localhost, but this application didn't see the mobile emulator, when I was running it. I read about device emulator manager, but I didn't find it on my pc. (I installed Windows Mobile 6 SDK.)

How do I have to set up a mobile device's connection?
If it is possible, I would like to get a very detailed description about this setting proccess.

Good day! I download VPC "Mobile_1_1_NAV50SP1_VPC" there is nothing on it influenced. I try check up Synchronize Device Emulator with NAV , replikation from NAV to Device is GOOD but with Device orders do not get in NAV. What can a problem be in? Thanks.

New templates and tools for dynamics mobile

Hello,

I have made available on my community site some new project templates and an item template for visual studio / dynamics mobile.

The project templates are "replacements" for the templates installed with the dynamics mobile sdk. The item templates allows to create easily multiple Tasklets in one solution instead of having the create one solution for each tasklet.

I also made (with a friend) a visual studio "add in" that allows you to get the errors related to UserRole.xml validation at compilation time instead of getting them at runtime.

Mobile Server Management error

Hello!

I am a total beginner at this technology, and I'm now trying to build up a full mobile system.
I want to build up this whole system on a local computer, so I installed the device and a server mobile component,
but now I have a problem with a Mobile Server Management. (I don't use SSL)
I use Windows authentication.

Message error: The underlying provider failed on Open. (So, I don't create Document Types)

Mobile Server Management web.config file:

User: ".\Administrators"

Connection String: "Integrated Security=SSPI; Initial Catalog=MobileManagement;Data Source= Titan;"
(MobileManagement is a management DB, Logging and Deployment management connect this DB too, but they work.)

I think, IIS works good , I can reach the services from the browser. The mistake may be in the SQL server. (in the authority)

If I use the above settings, what kind of settings do I have to set in the SQL server?

What name, what role should I assign to the database (MobileManagement)?

Or what the mistake may be?

Van Sales application ?

Hello,

Has anyone developed or knows something about a Van Sales application based on Dynamics Mobile? I believe you know ... van sales is about selling items directly from a remote location, printing the invoice to a mobile printer and also posting the customer payment.

What i'm interested in at this moment is to estimate the effort needed to develop the most common apllication. Of course, it depends on the customer needs but there are some standard van sales functionalities. I'll go to a Mobile training next week and I'm sure that many of my questions will be answered, but I need some information now.

Can anyone help me?
