The download section is finally active. If you have C/AL-code to share, make a zip-file and send it to webmaster@mynavision.net. Please include a short txt-file with a description of your code.

In the near future, it will be possible to upload files to the website, without sending mail.

Server maintenance scheduled

During the downtime, the mibuso.com website will not be available. The forum remains accessible, although logging in will not be possible as we use Single Sign On.

It's been a while since we let you know that we were working on a new website and a new forum. A year ago, this major project was started. It's the biggest update in the history of mibuso.com.

We now finally have agreed on a date when the transition will be executed. The migration will start on Monday 5 October 2015 and we expect the site to be available again on Wednesday 7 October Thursday 8 October. But as with every move or upgrade, some glitches or issues may and will occur during the first few days. Please have patience and have confidence that all will be sorted out.

In the meantime, there are some things you can do or verify:

If you have a forum account, please verify that the e-mail address in your profile is accurate. When transferring the forum data we will try to transfer the current passwords as well. If that fails then we need to generate passwords ourselfs and send you a mail with your new credentials. Note that we don't have your password in the database as plain text.
If you have a forum account, please note that the new forum software doesn't allow spaces in the username. These spaces will be converted to an underscore. My accountname eg. will be converted to Luc_Van_Dyck. If you don't like the converted username, then you can either send me a PM now through the forum with the username you would like to have or you can wait after the migration and send me a PM then to change it. Only requests through Private Messages will be processed!
When transferring the forum data, we won't be able to transfer private messages which are stored in your forum mailbox. Therefore, please check your messages and make a copy if you think you need them in the future.
If you have submitted files to the Downloads section, check that your e-mail address is displayed and accurate. If that's not the case, send us a mail so we can add that. On the new website, the downloads will be linked to your forum account so you'll be able to maintain them through the website. If you haven't a forum account yet, then please register.
If you have registered a company in the Business Directory, please verify that the contact e-mail address in that entry is accurate. As you won't be able to update your company details with the current credentials, we will send you a mail with the new procedure.
The blogs on this site will not be transferred to the new server. Instead, a new domain will be created which accesses the blog software on the old server. We will provide redirects from the old blog URL to the new URL. You will be able to post new articles. This however is only temporary. We will end the blogs section on mibuso.com on 1 January 2016. If you maintain a blog then you'll need to find a new host. We will deliver all blog articles and images so you can import them in the new location. We will also provide redirects from the mibuso.com blog URL to your new blog address.

Design Patterns (General & Best Practices)
Information about Design Patterns as a concept, general design approaches and best practices.

This forum has the following subforums:

Architectural Patterns
Architectural Patterns are the larger building blocks of your applications such as tables and posting processes. They determine how the data is stored in the database and flows through the system. Examples are Documents, Master Data and Ledger Entries.

Design Patterns
They are the smaller elements that give the application the characteristics people know and are familiar with. By implementing Design Patterns you create familiarity for users across the application. Examples are Number Series, Address Integration and Blocked Entity.

Implementation Patterns
This determines the way you structure your code and objects. The patterns help you organize your application and enhance upgradability and maintainability across developers and partners. Many of the patterns are derived from Object Oriented Programming. Examples are Hooks, Façade, Encapsulation and Natural Language Programming.

Thanks to Peik Bech-Andersen, I'm able to give away a few copies of his new book Manufacturing with Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

The book is to be used either as a setup guide for implementing a new system or as a handbook for later adjustments. The table of contents follow the implementation tasks as they would fall in an implementation of a new manufacturing system.

Target Audience

End-user customers who are going to implement the manufacturing module of Microsoft Dynamics NAV and
New consultants needing to up their skills around manufacturing are the main audience.
End-user customers who are already running the manufacturing module in the company will need it for the daily maintenance of their system, since there are no other material on the market.
And lastly experienced consultants needs it for adjusting running manufacturing solutions.

Thanks to the kind people of Packt Publishing, I'm able to give away 2 copies (one hardcopy, one ebook) of the new book "Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 New Features" written by Jim Wang & Darren Liu.

The book starts by setting up the development environment for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011. We will then build a structural architecture for the ACM system and configure it in Dynamics CRM 2011. While doing this, we will learn about the new customization features offered by Dynamics CRM 2011.

NAV TechDays 2011

Nav TechDays is the name of a new conference, organized by mibuso.com. The goal of this conference is to offer 2 days full of – technical only and highly relevant – sessions, related to Microsoft Dynamics™ NAV. Nav TechDays will take place on Thursday 26 & Friday 27 May 2011, at Metropolis Business & Communication Center in Antwerp (Belgium).

UPDATE 19/07/2010: Due to the broad range of Dynamics NAV conferences within the EMEA region, we have decided to reschedule our NAV TechDays conference. Instead of May 2011, this 2-day conference will be rescheduled to October 2011. A final date has not been decided upon, but we expect it will take place in the 2nd half of October 2011.

UPDATE 3/02/2011: To avoid possible conflicts with the existing Convergence EMEA and Directions US events, we have decided to set the date for the NAV TechDays 2011 to Thursday 29 & Friday 30 September 2011.

NAV TechDays is the place where some of the best developers and leading business owners cross paths, exchange ideas, find partners and conceive projects. It is where community ties are strengthened and where boundaries will be broken. It is where you want to be to make things happen. This document is designed to clarify various responsibilities of community members here at http://www.mibuso.com . Please read it and become familiar with it.

Posts are to be made in the relevant forum. Users are asked to read the forum descriptions before posting.
Members should post in a way that is respectful of other users. Flaming or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning.
Members are asked to not act as "back seat moderators". If members note an issue which contravenes something in this policy document they are welcome to bring it to the attention of a member of the Moderator Team. You can do this by using the red "exclamation" mark (="!") icon you find next to each message. Do not respond to such topics yourself.
Members should remember this board is aimed at a general audience. Posting generally offensive text, images, links, etc. will not be tolerated. This also includes text in signatures.
Members should post in a way which is consistent with "normal writing". That is users should not post excessive numbers of emoticons, large, small or coloured text, etc. Similarly users should not SHOUT or use excessive punctuation (e.g. ! and ?) in topic titles or posts.
If you would like to add something to your post, after hitting the button, please use "EDIT" to modify your posting rather than creating a new post.
Members should use an appropriate, descriptive title when posting a new topic. Examples of bad titles include; "Help me!", "I'm stuck!", "I've got an error!", etc. Examples of good titles include; "Getting error 4 in module 42", "Cannot restore a backup", etc. #
Members are welcome to use the test forum for general "test purposes". These may include checking signatures, testing a link or image, etc.
Spam is not tolerated here under any circumstance. Before posting a question, one should verify this hasn't been posted before. The forum contains an excellent search engine which should be consulted before posting any new questions.
When your question has been answered and your issue has been solved, it is good practice to modify your original Topic subject by adding [SOLVED] in front of your subject. This way other people know this question has been answered or can lookup the solution to that problem.
If you found the answer yourself, please let us know how you solved it, and change the Topic subject as well.
The Moderator and Webmaster reserve the right to edit or remove any post at any time. The determination of what is construed as indecent, vulgar, spam, etc. as noted in these points is up to them and not users. Members are encouraged to report "bad" postings using the "Report post" feature (see rule #3).
General questions should be asked in the forum. Do not use the private messaging system or private e-mail system to ask your question to a forum user. Most users are very busy, and will help whenever they can to provide a solution to your problem. But only if you don't threat them as your own personal problem-solver.
Members should not post topics with "Me too" messages or putting their e-mail address in a message asking for some files or documents. If you want to contact the author of a message, you can use the private message feature of this forum.
These forum rules where applicable also apply to private messaging. Abuse of the private messaging system may lead to warnings (as above) and/or the revokation of private messaging.
The use of the word URGENT in your topic title or topic text is not appreciated in this forum! If you want fast support, then buy a support ticket with Microsoft. Putting urgent in your message is not the right way to get a response.

To make it more clear what kind of topics are allowed in the NAV forums, we have renamed these ones:

forum "NAV 2009" is now called "NAV Three Tier"
forum "NAV/Navision" is now called "NAV/Navision Classic Client"

Only topics which are related to the Three Tier architecture, which was introduced with NAV 2009, should be posted in the "NAV Three Tier" forum.

Forum upgrade has been completed

The upgrade to the latest version of the forum software has been completed. Not all MOD's that have been installed with the previous version are installed again (for example: the Statistics screen isn't available yet), but this will be taken care of in the upcoming weeks/months.
The first you should do after login, is to visit the "User Control Panel" (link is located at the top right of every page), explore the various sections and fill in any new information.

Together with the upgrade, we have created a new forum "Dynamics Mobile", which should be used to post any (Dynamics) mobile related topic.

In the mean time, if you experience some issues, or are missing features, please use the Feedback forum to report them.
