Report upgrade

When i try to upgrade Nav 2009 r2 report object to Nav 2013 (tools-> upgrade report) then it show error
"The report should be compiled before it can be upgraded".
please help me.

    That is correct, the report needs to be compiled before you can upgrade it. See the following link for more information...

    BTW - I've just read the link and although it explains how to upgrade a report it does not specifically state that the report needs to be compiled before it can be upgraded - but this is definitely the case.

    The Process of upgrading report from NAV2009(Classic) to 2013 or Higher(RDLC) Report is that the report must be compiled in 2013 version before hitting the upgrade report. It's a mandatory step.

    Thanks.
    first i imported the report object when i tried to upgrade that object, it showing same error.
    (but before upgrade i unable to open that object for compilation).

    How i compile that object before upgrade?

    Did you import txt file of report?
    try importing FOB format of report and try?

    then try converting the copy of 2009R2 db with 2013 and use that object.

    You can compile the object without opening it (press F11) or select "Compile" from the Tools menu. You just need to make sure any objects/fields/functions that the report uses exists in the 2013 database. It's a pain but that's just the way it is.
