NAV 2016 Print and Send to Excel Excel error "An error occurred loading a configuration file"

Hi all,

We're in the process of implementing NAV2016. Our user's NAV shortcuts read configuration files from a central location - different shortcuts use different ".config" files point them to correct server/service tier for the Test system or the QA system or the Live System. Currently, users have read-only access to this directory.

When a user first tested the "Print and Send" feature to export page data to Excel, he received this error:

Configuration file error:
An error occurred loading a configuration file: Access to the path 'J:\CApp\RTC\2xokkuwh.tmp' is denied. (J:\CApp\RTC\Nav2016Test.config)

This obviously says that this temp file is being written to the location of the config file.

Does anyone know if there's a setting that can override the temp file location when using the "Print and Send" feature?

Thanks

Ron

Have you solved this? We're facing the same problem.

Unfortunately, we did not <yet> find a solution to this problem. Our short-term workaround is to have a backup directory of all our configured batch files and profiles, and nightly we refresh the directory. We then gave users permissions to write to this same directory.
